This is the ideal time for planting roses, you will have a clear view of where to put them and they don't like to be disturbed when they are at their height.
Remember the nuts, seeds and fat balls for the birds. It can also be a difficult time for the birds to find water.
Tender plants can struggle through the winter months, move any you can to the greenhouse or to a sheltered position. If this is not possible it's worth wrapping pots and plants in situ.
Continue to clear the fallen leaves from the ground.
Clear out, clean and store any pots you have finished with, this will prevent them cracking from the frost.
